My first major editorial work (with Alan
Jeeves) was All that Glittered. Selected
Correspondence of Lionel Phillips, 1890-1924.
I also edited Lionel Phillips’s Some
Reminiscences, wrote the introduction to the volume, with illustrations,
footnotes, bibliography and index.
The prestigious Van Riebeeck Society
invited me to select and edit original manuscripts for a volume to commemorate
Johannesburg’s Centenary in 1986.
